Hey its Emily here! I can't believe how blessed I am to be here in Cape Town, South Africa at this very moment! I have seen such beauty in God's creation of nature, people, and culture.

Over the past week I have seen God move in magnificent ways. From the first day out with the kids I have felt such love from God for them. They are so sweet and humble. No matter how much they have or what condition their home lives are in, children are children and give love wherever they go. I have joined in with the kids in many of their games, of which I have heard of none. I have learned though that many of their games are similar to our games at home.

It was so humbling teaching the kids for they have such a hunger to learn. One of the days I gave them a piece of paper to take home with some activities on them. "Are you giving us homework?!" they would ask excitedly, for they never get to take homework home. Also they would be so excited to put their names on he peices of paper for it was something to call their own.

Well this is some of what we have been doing here. I ask you to pray for us as we continue to minister to the kids. Pray for our safety and that God will give us the words to speak.

 God bless!!!!

Emily Schwenk

Prayer Points

Discernment: Philippians 1:9-11

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God

Spiritual Warfare: Eph 6:10-12

Finally, be strong in the Lord and mighty in His power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rules, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Boldness: Eph 6:19

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel

Protection: Psalm 91:9-10

Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place – the Most High who is my refuge – no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.

Strength: Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faith.

Restoration: Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners.
