FAITH IS

Faith in Hebrews 11:1–3 is trust that takes God at His word, even before anything is visible. The author defines faith as a settled confidence in what God has promised and a conviction about realities we cannot yet see. The “ancients” were approved by God because they lived this way. The passage ends by grounding faith in creation itself—we understand the universe was formed by God’s unseen word, showing that the visible world rests on an invisible, trustworthy God.
