JESUS, A GARDEN AND SORROW

In Matthew 26:36-46, Jesus goes to Gethsemane with His disciples, deeply sorrowful and troubled as He prepares for His impending crucifixion. He prays three times, asking if the cup of suffering might pass from Him, yet ultimately submits to the Father's will. Meanwhile, His disciples, despite His urging to stay awake and pray, repeatedly fall asleep. Jesus warns them that though their spirit is willing, their flesh is weak. Finally, He acknowledges that the time has come—His betrayer is at hand
